Prequel to Anne of Green Gables

"Will you call me Cordilia?” With these simple words, a intricate and loving friendship beings.

Orphaned at six months, this little redhead must work her way through the world. Anne Shirley will bring tears of laughter to your eyes. Anne is taken in by different families, where she must work for her keep. The orphan must take care of babies, wash diapers and diapers and cook, all under the age of six!

School is her only love, a ‘bright sun in a very dark life‘. There she meets the beautiful Miss Henderson, whom she loves dearly, and who teaches her to read.

Her only friends are Katie Maurice, her reflection, who lives in the dish-cabinet in her second home, and Violetta, her echo who lives in the mountains across the woods where Anne lives with the Hammonds and their many babies: three sets of twins, and two older children.

But when Mr. Hammond dies of a heart attack, Anne is sent to an orphanage. She is deceived by her best friend, and feels no one likes her or her red hair. Then the headmistress tells her that she is too be adopted!

Hopeful of getting a real home at last, Anne, along with another orphan. However, when she arrives at her much desired destination, she finds that there has been a mistake… she was supposed to be a boy! Will she be sent back to the orphanage? Or can redheads, too, have a happily ever after?
