And now, introducing Frodo, son of Drodo, nephew to the not-so-respectable Mr. Bilbo Bagginess!

Now, when we last met, I was terrorizing you about all the horrors that poor Bilbo had to face in the last book. This time, we have a new victim! Frodo inherits Bilbo’s magic ring, but exactly what kinds of ‘powers’ does it have?

Little Frodo is sent packing by mysterious ‘Black Riders’, and he finds himself pursued through Elf-land, the Shire, and alike. However, he is not alone. His trusty servant Sam Gamgee travels with him, along with the pudgy Merry. Frodo also finds a friend in Strider, a mysterious Ranger whom we know little about.

But now we must ask ourselves these sinister questions. Here, let me give you an example…

‘Who are these Black Riders, and why are they trying to sniff me?’ Need another example? ‘Exactly how desperate are the Black Riders, and what do they want from Frodo, and how do they mean to go about it’?
